Latest Meeting News: Fall 2022

After careful consideration and some pressure from long distanced and homebound members, the DVPC community has decided to alternate our monthly meetings between in person and virtual meetings starting with the December 17, 2022 meeting . Colleen Baratka, MA, TEP will offer a virtual workshop, “THE HOLIDAY GATHERING: Using Structured Projective Techniques for Online and In person Groups”. The January meeting will be in person and is listed in events.

We continue to look for new structure to the collective and ways to energize and bring in new administrative roles. In the December meeting we discussed what we need to go nonprofit and possibly moving business meetings to non workshop days. We hope to see you all at future meetings.

Collective News : A 6 Month Update

Since September we have continued to meet monthly and have had five (5) successful in - person workshops and two (2) business meetings. Two of these were hybrid sessions. Though they were very successful, in our most recent business meeting , we was voted to discontinue the hybrid sessions since we continue to hold virtual training sessions and some of the feedback on the evaluations stated that hybrid sessions were a bit overwhelming for both zoom and live participants .

We have continued to have successful Social Justice Zoom sessions with trainers from around the globe, including Herb Propper from Oklahoma, by way of Bangledesh and India, Leticia Nieto from Washington State and Mexico ; and Marjut Partenen-Hertell of Finland. We plan to host this on alternating months in the future.

The DVPC is looking for new officers , a webmaster and help with education and program support. If you have interest in becoming more involved in the DVPC please contact Colleen Baratka via the DVPC email dvpsychodrama@gmail.com or call 610-609-1465. Definitely look for notice of our next business meeting.

Recent In Person masked meetings

On September 24 our Collective met masked for the first time in person since the Pandemic closed everything down in March of 2020. The meeting was masked at The Phoenix Center for Experiential Trauma Therapy in Media , PA. There was a full house. We first had a business meeting discussing many issues that have been tabled for a while, we also agreed that we'd like to both continue the Social Justice Zoom meetings, as well as the in person meetings.

Dr Scott Giacommucci DSW, LCSW, BCD, CGP, FAAETS, PAT presented An In-Person Encounter with Vicarious Post-Traumatic Growth Throughout the Pandemic . It was a pleasure for everyone to work in action in person again.
On October 23 we held our second in person meeting with Colleen Baratka, MA, TEP. presenting Mirror, Mirror: Finding the True Self Beyond The Eating Disorder.

The International Social Justice Zoom WORKSHOPS are off and running in October and NOvember with Herb Propper PhD, TEP leading Sociometric Explorations in Social Justice Parts 1 & 2 . Our group reached all the way to New Zealand. And we look forward to building our connections wherever they may lead us in our search for justice and inclusion.
